Shirley Blanche Satterfield, 78, of Columbus passed away Oct. 25 at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 4, 1932 in Clarksburg to Hanley Johnson and Barbara Harden Johnson. She was married to Alger Eugene Satterfield on Mar. 25, 1959, and he survives.

She was a graduate of Clarksburg High School and attended Frankfort Pilgrim Holiness School. She loved to read, decorate, work puzzles and was the Scrabble champion. She was affiliated with Flintwood Wesleyan Church.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her son William Eugene (Terri) Satterfield of Hartsville, her daugheters Constance (William) Ackeret of Pensacola, Fla., Deborah Satterfield of Columbus and Elen Rose Satterfield of Columbus, her grandchildren M. Shane Satterfield, Leah Boyer, Lindsay Boyer, Benjamin J. Hammer, Kathryn Rose Bond, Christopher Wolf, Ashley Wolf, Jesse Wade, Rachael Badger, five great-grandchildren, her sisters Florence Eckart of Amboy, Ada Mae (Rev. Ernest) Batman of Frankfort and Helen Jackson of Greensburg.

Calling will be on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Eckart and Rev. Ernest Batman officiating. Burial will be in Clarksburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
