Mrs Lux Dies; A Daughter of Pioneer Couple
Funeral services were held yesterday for Mrs Minnie Lux, member of an old Bloom Township family and a lifelong resident of this community, who died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs Rose Leach, 1419 Vincennes Avenue. She was 77 years
old.
Mrs Lux was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs John Weishaar, Bloom pioneers,
and was born at the family homestead on Sauk Trail one and a half miles east of
Chicago Road. Her marriage to Fred Lux occurred in 1883. He died forty-six
years ago.
Survivors in the immediate family include five children - Mrs E M
Sjoholm of Washington DC, USA ; John Lux of Oakland, Calif; Mrs Andrew Kloss of
Joliet; Mrs Frank Miller of Chicago and Mrs Leach. There are also one sister,
Mrs John Richards of Chicago Heights and two brothers, Anthony Weishaar of
Chicago Heights and John Weishaar of Crete. Eleven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren also survive.
Final rites were conducted from West End Chapel to St Agnes Church at ten o'clock yesterday morning. Burial was in the Strassburg Cemetery.
