PASSING OF A YOUNG MOTHER
Mrs. Martin Thompson of New London Succumbed to Pneumonia
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Martin Thompson were held Monday from the home in New London and from the Green Lake church.
The services were conducted by Rev. O. L. Christenson and Rev. Geo. J. Knudson. At the home a duet was sung by Mrs. Gustrud and Mrs. Olson and at the church the choir sang. Burial was in the Green Lake cemetery. The pall bearers were Reuben and Chester Jacobson, Reynold Carlson, Jaseph. Thompson, of Green Lake, Oswald Ottesan and Christ Larson of Irving. A mission gift from the Green Lake ladies' aid was announced, in her memory.
Helga Laurense Monson was born October 23, 1903 in Norway. Her youth was spent in the Irving community and near Hawick, where she attended the grade schooIs. In 1922 In Dovre township she was united in marriage to Mr. Martin Thompson, who with five children survives. The children are Marvin, Alton, Hubert, Norma Jane and a baby girl. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Monson of Irving township, and the following brothers and sisters: Soren of Hawick, Martin of Thor, Minn., Sina (Mrs, Jens Gronlie) of Hawick, Gertie (Mrs. Lawrence Christopherson) of New London, Olga (Mrs. Elmer Thompson) of Kandiyohi, Esther (Mrs. Clarance Harris) of PaynesviIle, Petra (Mrs. Ed. Jones) of Hawick, Henry, George, Margaret and Inga at home. The family had resided in Spicer, Willmar and Hawick before moving to New London two years ago.
Mrs. Thompson had been ill for about two weeks, suffering from pneumonia.
The young husband and the family of motherless children, as well as the other relatives have the sympathy of the community in their loss.
