Teresa Anne Bunkley Blevins, 45, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, Georgia after a short illness. Teresa was born in Beaufort, SC and lived in California and Guam before moving to Bulloch County in 1969. She attended Bulloch County schools and was a graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and of Georgia Southern University with a degree in Special Education. She and her husband have lived in Augusta for the past 10 years. She taught in the Augusta and Aiken, SC school systems for several years, as well as Savannah and Pembroke in her earlier teaching years.

Teresa was of the Baptist faith and was a vibrant and passionate advocate for the disabled in the state of Georgia. She was a volunteer at the Walton Rehab Center in Augusta and assisted in establishing a family information center for the families. She also advocated for transportation for the disabled and served on a committee for rural transportation. She created and contributed to a local deaf organization's newsletter. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dennie and Jennie Platt of Beaufort, SC, and her paternal grandparents, Leondis and Neva Bunkley of Bulloch County. She will be missed by her many friends and family.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Blevins, of Augusta; two daughters, Dallas Ansley of Statesboro, GA and Hailey Ansley of Gibson, GA; her mother and stepfather, Barbara and Keith Codd of Seabrook, Texas; her father and stepmother, Leon and Marcy Bunkley of Bulloch County; a sister and brother-in-law, Colette B. and Wade Wehunt of Zebulon, NC: two nieces and one nephew, Breanna, Makenzie, and Campbell Wehunt of Zebulon, NC; and two sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Michael Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Hodges-Moore Funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
