Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Hayden Belcher, 87, wife of the late Waddie C. Belcher, who died July 17, 1945, at the home of daughter, Mrs. Robert W. (Beulah ) Hill, at Bramwell yesterday morning at 3:10, will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Hill.
The Rev. C.W. Paskell will be in charge and interment will follow in the Belcher Cemetery.
Mrs. Belcher was born March 6, 1858, a daughter of William Powell and his wife who was Julia Ann Dillon.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Beulah) Hill, and a son, Dayton Belcher, also of Bramwell, and two step-daughters, Mrs. F.B. Williams, Matoaka and Mrs. W. K. Richards, Bramwell. Her only remaining sister, Mrs. Alice P. Franklin, died in April of this year.
Surviving are six grandchildren, among whom is Lt. Doris A. Belcher, Army Nurse Corp, whom Mrs. Belcher reared from childhood and who has been serving in England the past two years—and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Belcher had resided in Bramwell for fifty-six years, and was a member of the Bramwell Methodist Church.
Pallbearers: C.E. Cumby, Arthur and Howard Goins, Douglas Frith, Kenneth Price, Guy and Paul Haynes, and Glenn Scott.
Members of the Missionary society of the Bramwell Methodist Church will serve as flowerbearers.
