BROWNFIELD, Mrs. Bessie Miller - 63, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. W. O. Miller of 4131 First Ave, Nitro, after a long illness. A resident of Newark, Mrs. Brownfield had made her home with the daughter since March. Surviving beside the daughter are the husband, Floyd Brownfield of Newark; three other daughters, Mrs. C. E. Postlethwaith of Scott Depot, Mrs. Dewey Garton of Nitro and Miss Sue Miller of Pt. Pleasant; one step-daughter, Mrs. Elsie Adams of Tyler Mt.; five sons, J.C. Miller of Ward, E. W. of Nitro, Thomas of Bancroft, Harold of Pt. Pleasant and Vernon of Scott Depot; one sister, Mrs. A. W. Fitzwater of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one half-sister, Mrs. Alice Trent of Newark; three brothers, John Shifflet of Belle, Hazeklah Shifflet of Witchers Creek and Gene Shifflet of Cedar Grove; one half-brother, Sanford Davis of Danville, Ok.; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body will be moved to the home of Mrs. C. E. Postlethwait at Scott Depot at 6 pm today. Service will be at 2:30 pm tomorrow at the Church of Christ at Nitro, 31st St and Second Ave. Rev. Flavel K. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Showen Cemetery, Gatens Mortuary of Poca in charge. The body will be taken to the church one hour before service. Pallbearers will be nephews. Nieces will be flower bearers.
