John C. Shifflett
John C. Shifflett, 88, of 419 Fourth St., Belle, a retired miner of Valley Camp Coal Co. at Ward, died Sunday at Charleston General Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Shifflett was a former resident of Ward, where he was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Lula Kissinger , Mrs. Mace Ward and Mrs. Martha Dangerfield of Belle, Mrs. Nellie Wise of Poca, Mrs. Leah Dabney Mrs. Ceredo Miller, and Mrs Dollie Thompson of Nitro, Mrs Lucille Britt of Shrewsbury: sons, John H. of Nitro, Christley of Glasgow; brother, Hezekiah Shifflett of Daytona Beach, Fla.
Service will be Wednesday a 2 p. m. in Cook Funeral Home Cedar Grove with burial in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Minister Flavil K Smith will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
