TONY TACKETT

Tony Tackett, 62, of Beaver Rt. 2, died at 1:35 a.m. today at Pike County Hospital here following an extended illness. A native of Magoffin County, Ky., he was a retired construction worker and a member of Givens United Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rosa Salyers Tackett; five sons, Clarence Ray Tackett of Fairborn, Curtis Roger Tackett of Cardington Rt. 1, John Tackett of Piketon Rt. 1, B.F. Tackett of Lucasville Rt. 4 and William A. Tackett of Columbus; six daughters, Mrs. Earl Bakenhester of Waverly Rt. 1, Mrs. James Preston, Mrs. Ronald Ward and Mrs. Jim Heidth, all of Columbus, and Misses Estell and Tammy Rebecca Tackett, both at home; his father, Farris Tackett of Waverly Rt. 1; three brothers, Elliott and Billy Tackett, both of Lucasville, and Sherman Tackett of Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Edgar Conley of Beaver Rt. 2, Mrs. Wyoma Tackett of Waverly Rt. 1 and Mrs. Al Smith of Kentucky, 20 grandchildren. Services are to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with Brothers Millard Preston, Charles Roark and Noah Jenkins officiating. Interment is to be in Germany Cemetery under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home here. Friends may call at the Tackett residence on Germany Rd. after noon Thursday.
