Mary McCollum Mikell, 94, of Jesup, GA, died Thursday, July 19, 2007, in the Beverly Health & Rehab. Center after an extended illness. The Murray Co., GA, native had lived in Wayne Co., GA, most of her life, was a member of the Jesup First Baptist Church, the Naomi Sunday School Class, a retired Baliff for the Wayne County Juvenile Court, a homemaker, loved sewing & crafts, & was the widow of Archie Armond Mikell & predeceased by a grandson: Mikell A. Varnedoe.
Survivors are 3 daughters & sons-in-law: Jean & Bill Bryan of Cleveland, TN, Carolyn & Paul Varnedoe of Brunswick, GA, & Charlotte Gifford of Montgomery, AL, a son & daughter-in-law: John & Hilda Mikell of Apison, TN, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 A. M. Saturday, July 21, 2007, from the Jesup First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Von Moss & Rev. Paul Varnedoe officiating. Interment will be in the Screven City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Hal Walls, Walt Mikell, Matt Mikell, Ethan Varnedoe, Jonathon Varnedoe, & Shawn Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be: Employees of Beverly Health & Rehab. Center.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 A. M. Saturday from the church.
