Lucille Long, age 92, of 193 Asheville Hwy, Sylva died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Harris Regional Hospital of Sylva, NC. Mrs. Long was born December 13, 1917 in Auburn, NE. She is the daughter of the late Willie Edward and the late Dora (Orr) Whittington. She was employed as a cafeteria manager. She was the "Miss Lucy" of the Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered there for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Laura Mount of Sylva; a son, James Whittington of Tulsa, OK ; two sisters, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, October 23 at Fairview Memorial Gardens, , Sylva, NC with Rev. Patty Curtis officiating.
