Mrs. Ella Jane Driggers Kirkland, 68, died Thursday evening at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center following a long illness. The Bulloch County native attended Southeast Bulloch High School and was employed with Wynn's Taxidermist for 25 years. Mrs. Kirkland loved fishing, spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid BINGO player, traveling to many areas to participate in BINGO competitions. She attended the Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Maynard Lloyd Kirkland of Statesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Debbie Kirkland of Statesboro and Danny and Ginny Kirkland of Portal; a daughter, Cindy Mixon of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Heather K. and Gene Farmer of Atlanta, Hillary K. and Chris Felker of Statesboro, Chase Kirkland, Jordan Kirkland and J.R. Mixon Jr., all of Portal and Brittany Mixon of Statesboro; four great-grandchildren, Haley Felker, Zoe Felker, Kayla Farmer and Preston Farmer; two brothers and a sister-in-law, John (Boots) and Jesse Ruth Driggers of Statesboro and Gordon Driggers of Statesboro; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Winton Wells of Leefield and Betty and David Heath of Statesboro. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Andrew officiating assisted by the Rev. John Long. Interment will be in the Harville Baptist Church Cemetery. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge of arrangements.
