Confederate Veteran Passes.
Funeral services in the charge of Elder Joel E. Marshall, were held at Spencer, Va. Wednesday for Thomas T. Rakes, 94, one of the last four surviving Confederate Veterans in the county, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.E. Hall Tuesday.
Interment was made near his old home at Vesta in (Patrick Co.).
The deceased is survived by three sons, A. W. Rakes of Vesta, Willie Rakes of Fieldale, Henry County, Va., and James C. Rakes of Schoolfield and one daughter, Mrs. C. E. Hall of Spencer, with whom he made his home.
