She was born and was raised in rural Live Oak Co., Texas, where she married Joseph. They moved from there to what would be Sinton in San Patricio Co., in 1894 where she lived the rest of her life. Lillie was a descended from the illustrious Seguin Ranger, Robert Hall, and the revered King family of Belmont near Gonzales, Texas.

She and Joe were truly pioneers of Sinton, living in one of the very first houses in the area, which Joe built. Lillie raised 11 children and served as the matriarch of the family. Much of her life was with her daughters, Lucy and Rhoda, but she spent her last many years in the hospital, suffering from a heart diseases and diabetes.
