Ben graduated from Ingleside High School in 1965 and went on to attend Southwest Texas. He received his Associate's Degree from San Antonio College. Later, Ben served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years during the Vietnam War.
In 1968, Ben married his true love and best friend, Karen Martindale in Ingleside Texas. They began their family while residing in San Antonio.
After retiring from United Parcel Service in 1982, Ben answered his passion for their technology of pagers, 2-way radios and mobile phones by working for various communications companies. A decade ago, he went to work with Dailey Wells Communication based in San Antonio, Texas.
An avid fisherman, Ben spent most of his spare time near the water. He also enjoyed playing poker with friends.
Ben is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen, his daughter Kara Lea Miller (Curtis), his mother Doris Fillingham Fregia Snyder and his sister Carole Martindale. He is preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be at Seaside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Sunday, October 24, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a private service to follow.
