DANVILLE, Va. - Lottie Frances Barbour Eanes, 77, of 797 Stony Mill
Road, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center
after a decline in health for a number of years.
Born May 17, 1921, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of
Lewis Barbour and Sallie Pruitt Barbour.
She was married 58 years to Charlie H. Eanes, who died in 1997.
She lived all her life in Pittsylvania County, and was a graduate of Callands
High School. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.
Survivors include seven daughters, Marie E. Eaton of Stony Mill Road,
Charline Barksdale and Rita Jones of Danville, Dianne Adkerson of
Whitmell, Wanda Gibson of Providence, N.C., Sally Seay of Ringgold,
Gloria Eanes of Sutherlin; four sons, Danny Eanes of the Martinsville
Highway, James Eanes and Rayvon Eanes of Stony Mill Road, Earl Eanes
of the residence; two sisters, Carrie Ferrell of Danville and Eva Amos of
Callands; one brother, Ranford Barbour of Dry Fork; 18 grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Sharon Baptist Church on
Stony Mill Road with the Rev. Allen Holder officiating. Burial will be in the
family cemetery at the residence.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church and
at other times at the residence.
Swicegood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
