Deborah Voorhees Grover (1798-1880) was Rachel's sister with whom she was visiting when the family bible pages were copied.
In 1810, when Rachel's parents and children returned to New Jersey to live, after residing one year in Union, Rachel did not return with them. She remained with her grandfather Josiah Cafferty in his log house in Union. Later she married while living in Union. In 1845, when Josiah died Rachel and family lived on their farm two miles up Bradley creek from Union Center, NY, in the township of Maine. These early records of William Voorhees and family were copied from his Bible at Deborah Voorhees Grover's house in Red Bank, NJ, 16 September 1864, by Rachel Snedaker and her son, Cornelius, while there on a visit.
