Ruby H. Abbott was born in Nebraska to parents Clarence B. Abbott(1835-1901) and Lydia H. Schulz (1860-1937) both of Wisconsin, both of German descent.

She was one of four children born to Clarence and Lydia, but only her and brother Philo C.(1887-1965) survived childhood. George (1879-1889) buried in Nebraska and Sherman (1892-1894 only two years old buried in Colorado.

The family moved to Colorado where she married Hugh Paul Savage(1881-1957)on 29 Jun 1908 in Del Norte, Rio Grande, Colo.

They would have one child together: Hugh A.(1911-1982) born in Rio Grande County, Colorado.
