Research: Son John Arthur's obit states he was survived by 4 half sisters and 1 half brother. Since John and Caroline had no children together, it would seem the half-siblings were from his mother, Emma Anna "Ann" Chism, and her prior marriage. All of his half siblings and known step siblings from John and Caroline predeceased him.

Note: Thanks to Linda (48001474) for spouse name/date of 2nd marriage. Unclear if her maiden name was Chism or Lauck. Research, is the Sarah Chism/IL/9-1871, granddaughter in home of Reubin and Sarah Chism, Wood, Carroll Co MO. in 1880, possibly Ann/Emma's child? Same location where she would have lived with John after 1872 marriage and where she is presumed to have died about 1878,
