Observe 60th
Anniversary
A Cushing couple, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Allen, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary here today with an open house event.
All of the couple's four children, will be present for the event. Invitations have been extended to friends and neighbors to call at the Allen home, 501 East Walnut, between the hours of 3 to 5 p.m.
Mr. Allen is a retired Santa Fe Railway Co. engineer and the couple has made their home in Cushing for the past 42 years.
Children of the couple who plan to be here for the celebration include: one daughter, Mrs. L. C. Griffin, El Paso, Tex.; three sons, J. C. Allen, Cushing, Ross Allen, Lawndale, Calif., and Earl Allen, Ft. Boliver, Tex.
Other relatives to be here for the event include Mrs. Allen's sisters, Mrs. W. T. Boulware, Elk City, and Mrs. A. G. Stone, Chanute, Kans. Also Mr. Allen's sister's, Mrs. N. R. James, Las Animas, Colo. and Mrs. Hattie Gordon, Tecumseh.
The Cushing couple has 13 grand children and 17 great grand-children.

Mrs. Edna Alberta Allen, 83, of 3915 Byron St., died Saturday. Was a resident of El Paso for 2 years and a member of the Church of Christ. Survived by her husband, L. H. Allen, El Paso; daughter, Mrs. L. C. Griffin, El Paso; sons, Clinton Allen of Cushing, Oklahoma; Ross Allen of Long Dale, Calif.; Earl Allen of Soup Lake, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Mamie Boulware, Elk City, Oklahoma; Mrs. Omega Stone. Wichita, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren. Services will be held at the Davis Funeral Home Thursday p.m. in Cushing, Oklahoma. Mrs. Allen was born Sept. 20 1879, in Arkansas. she was married to Lucien H. Allen in August, 1899, in Texas and the couple came to Cushing in 1917 where she had lived(sic) until 2 years ago when the couple moved to El Paso, Tex.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are husband, Lucien H. Allen of El Paso; three sons, Clinton of Cushing, Earl of Sourlake, Tex., and Ross of Lawndale, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. L. C. Griffin of El Paso, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. George Stone of Wichita, Kan., and Mrs. Mamie Boulware of Elk City; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grand child.

Thursday at 2 P.M.
The funeral service for Mrs. Edna L. Allen, wife of L. H. Allen of El Paso, Tex., a long-time former Cushing resident, has been set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home. Paul Brown minister of the Church of Christ, will conduct the service.
Burial, under direction of the Davis Funeral Home, will be in the Fairlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Allen came to Cushing with her husband in 1917 and lived here(sic) until two years ago, when she moved to El Paso.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Rites Held
Last rites for Mrs. Edna A Allen, 83, wife of L. H. Allen, El Paso, Tex. a former longtime resident, were at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home. Paul Brown, minister of the Church of Christ, conducted the service.
A mixed quarted composed of Mrs. O. C. Goddard, Mrs. Ralph Martain, C H. Stinnet, and W. T. Boles, sang " Beyond The Sunset", "Rock of Angles", and "God Shall Wipe Away All Tears".
Casket bearers, all grandson of Mrs. Allen, were J. C. Allen, Jr., David Allen, Bill Allen, Clifford Allen, Bobby Plumber, and Edward Cluck Burial, under direction of the Davis Funeral Home, was in Fairlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was born in Arkansas in 1879 and was married to L. H. Allen in Texas in 1899. The couple moved to Cushing in 1917 and she lived here(sic) until two years ago when she moved to El Paso, Tex.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Relative(sic) are her husband of the home, three sons, one daughter, two sisters, 13 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
