James Edward Mitchell
Death claimed Mr. Mitchell, 59 year old painter of Moore Court, Monday night in a Charleston hospital after a long illness.
He was the son of Phillip J. Mitchell of Fayette County, West Virginia and Lelia Dickinson Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell was widowed. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Gay and Mrs. Beatrice Griffee of Charleston and two sons Meredith Mitchell of Charleston and Edge L. Mitchell of New York City, a sister Mrs. Nora McDowell of Albuquerque, N.M, and a brother L. R. Mitchell of Thurmond, WV.
Funeral services were held at the Bartlett Mortuary. Burial followed in Spring Hill Cemetery.
