Mrs. Margaret Hendry, 85, passed away quietly at her home in Roslyn Monday, December 23 at 9:00 p.m. while her daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Garlick cared for her.
Margaret Drysdale was born in Scotland on October 24, 1855, where she married Andrew Hendry before coming to the United States in 1887. They made their home in Pennsylvania for 11 years before moving to Roslyn in 1899. Mr. Hendry, retired miner, died four years ago.
Mrs. Hendry was a long-time member of the Pocahontas lodge and Calvary Episcopal church.
Surviving her are four daughters and five sons: Mrs. Joe Darby, Black Diamond; Mrs. Jesse Melbourne, Yakima; Mrs. Annie Clarkson, Seward, Alaska; and Mrs. Jeanette Garlick, Roslyn; William Hendry, Los Angeles, Calif.; Peter Hendry, Yakima; and Jack, George and Alex Hendry of Roslyn. Also 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the family home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Reverend William A. Gilbert of the Episcopal churches conducting the last rites. Burial was in the Eagles cemetery.
