He was the son of Asher and Mary Polly (Royal) Bizzell and married 1st Mary Adeline Royal* in 1847. She died the next year and he married 2nd Celeste Robinson on January 12, 1851 in Clinton

*Mary Adeline Royall (1815-1848) died in 1848 in Philadelphia while Henry was in Medical School, possibly during childbirth. They had one child, Hardy Royall Bizzell born in 1848 in Philadelphia. All of Henry Bizzell's other children were from his marriage to Mary "Polly" Smith (1794-1867)
