MONROEVILLE - Jason Virgil "J.V." Lundy, retired employee of the city of Monroeville, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 70. Lundy, a Mobile County native, attended UMS High School in Mobile. He had lived in Monroeville for the past 37 years and retired as the city's sewage superintendent and building inspector. Lundy was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. His memberships included Monroeville First Baptist Church, the Monroeville Civitan Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8485. Survivors include his wife, Melba Dees Lundy of Monroeville; two sons, Wayne J. Lundy of Columbus, Ga., and Mark J. Lundy of Monroeville; a daughter, Karen L. Trimble of Elsanor; three brothers, E. Gordon Lundy, the Rev. Gilbert M. Lundy and Hugh C. Lundy, all of Mobile; two sisters, Ferne L. Sciple of Mobile and Iris L. Anderson of Pascagoula; and five grandchildren. Services are set for 10 a.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville, with burial at 3 p.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile.
