Buddy's obituary in the Shelby Daily Star, Sunday, April 1, 2001 read:

"LINCOLNTON - Mr. A. C. "Buddy" Parker, 70, of 917 East Catawba St., died Saturday, March 31, 2001.

Born June 9, 1930, in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Leo Worth "Bill" and Bessie Mae Hamrick Parker. He was an auto repairman for Withers Body Shop.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maebell Capps Parker.

He is survived by four sons, Ricky Parker and Tony Parker, both of Lincolnton, Dennis Parker of Gastonia and A. C. Parker Jr. of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Linda Parker Elliot of Catawba; two brothers, Clyde Parker of Shelby and Billy Parker of Polkville; five sisters, Beatrice Greene, Barbara Black and Shirley Edwards of Shelby, Jane Snipes of Fallston and Mary Rogers of Boiling Springs; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be Monday at 3:30 P.M. in the Warlick Funeral Home chapel with Dr. David E. Mills officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home."
