Death angel had been knocking for a long time at the door of Mrs. Fannie L. Emerson, so on Friday, June 16th, he knocked for the last time. She was born in 1837. To mourn her loss, she leaves her husband, Mr. W. P. Emerson, two daughters, Mrs. J. D. Minter of Martinsville and Mrs. T. S. Bondurant of Leaksville, N.C., two sons, Dr. G. O. Emerson of Bachelors Hall, Va. and Mr. E. E. Emerson of Leaksville, N.C., and two brothers, Messrs. Charles and Washington Pearson.
The flower bearers were composed of grandchildren, namely Misses Beatrice Minter, Lois Minter, Jeanette Minter, Messrs. Stuart Bondurant, Ernest Minter and Emerson Minter.
The body was laid to rest in the family burying ground near the home.
