Joseph Elmo Garff, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2010 after an exceptional life. He was welcomed home by his loving wife Kay, his daughter Patty, and great-granddaughter Alyssa as well as his parents and siblings.

He was born December 29, 1914 in Lehi, UT, the youngest of nine children to George Peter Garff and Tryphena Mayer Brimhall.

A born leader and example, he was captain of the basketball team and student body president at Utah State. He loved outdoor activities including golf, fishing, and hunting.

His biggest victory was finding the love of his life, Kathryn Geddes, - "The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi" - and marrying her on June 10, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised four children, Suzanne (Brett) Reynolds, Patty (Tom) Anderegg, Kathryn (Bob) Robinson, and Richard (Valerie) Garff. They are blessed with eighteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren who love and adore him.

He loved his callings as Bishop, Temple Sealer, and Mission President (Ohio Cleveland Mission). He always had a fun story and an endless smile.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in the Little Cottonwood Fourteenth Ward Chapel, 1160 East Vine Street. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. and Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive.
