Mr. Heath suffered a cerebral hemorrhage last Thursday and never regained consciousness. He was born June 11, 1898, in Charlotte, the oldest son of the late B. D. Heath, one of the city's leading manufacturers and at one time president of the Charlotte National Bank. He attended the schools in Charlotte and Porter Military Academy at Charleston, S. C. Upon graduation at that institution he enlisted in the naval aviation forces in World War I. After his war service he entered Georgia School of Technology in Atlanta.
AUTO BUSINESS
Upon returning to Charlotte he entered the automobile business and soon became one of the city's best known dealers, and when he moved to Winston-Salem it was to accept a large dealership in that city.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Shelton Heath; a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Heath, III; a daughter, Miss Ruth Shelton Heath; a grandson, Benjamin Dawson Heath IV; his mother, Mrs. B. D. Heath, all of Charlotte; two sisters, Mrs. Bennett Heath Alexander of Charlotte and Mrs. Alton Slingerland of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four brothers, Wesley T. Heath, F. Jackson Heath, and M. Lee Heath of Charlotte; a half brother, Gilbert Heath of Chester, S. C.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Charles DePas Jones, Mrs. J. Renwick Wilkes, and Mrs. J. C. Montgomery, all of Charlotte.
