Mrs. Eleanor H. Chalk, 79, 4287 East River Rd., Fairfield, died Monday at 2:45 p.m. in Mercy Hospital. She was born in Oxford, the daughter of Henry and Anna Janser Lagedrost and attended schools in Oxford and Hamilton. For a time she was employed at the Hamilton Telephone Exchange and also was a seamstress and dressmaker. She was married in 1917 to William Chalk, who died in 1961. Mrs. Chalk was a member of St. Joseph Church and the St. Ann Society of that parish, the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association, YWCA and Millville Civic Club. She also was a volunteer worker at Mercy Hospital and had worked for the Board of Elections. Services, 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Colligan Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, burial in St. Stephen cemetery. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, funeral home.
