Lucy was the 4th child born to Wm. Benjamin and Della Hudson Beckham. She married James Ellis Aultman in Georgia, had two children, Margaret Natalie and Raymond Clayton before moving to Birmingham AL about 1937. Lucy's youngest child, Doris Louise, was born in Birmingham. She sufferred from Bright's disease, i.e. chronic kidney failure for eight years and from hypertension for five years before she finally succumbed to her illness in August 1947. Lucy was taken by ambulance to Jefferson-Hillman Hospital in Birmingham, AL on June 15, 1947 and she died there 22 days later. Lucy's youngest child was less than 6 years old when she died. Her parents were there with her as well as her husband. Ellis never remarried and reared their three children alone. Lucy is remembered as a loving Christian woman by all who knew her.
