MOUNT VERNON — Chad Daniel Allen, 17, of 6106 Mink St., Mount Vernon, went home to be with his Lord after a lengthy battle with Muscular Dystophy on Feb. 12, 2004, at Children's Hospital in Columbus.
He was born April 22, 1986, in Newark to Glenn R. and Joanna B. (Martin) Allen. He was a member of the Community Bible Church, and was a former 4-H Club member. He had an infectious smile and sparkling brown eyes.
Besides his parents he is survived by four brothers, Caleb Allen, Joshua Allen, Davey Allen and Wyant Allen, all of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Amber Allen of Centerburg and Danielle Allen of Mount Vernon; paternal grandfather, Lee Allen of Mount Vernon; maternal grandparents, Donald and Clara Martin of Mount Vernon; aunts and uncles, Sam (Karen) Martin of Cincinnati, R. Jeanine (Dave) Davenport of Mount Vernon, Judy (Lach) Galbraith of Scottsdale, Ariz., Julie (John) Tresaloni of Lexington, Ky., Jann (Walt) Bruning of Cambridge, Jill Jaymes of Mount Vernon, Kim (John) Flemming of Mount Vernon, Heidi (Matt) Davis of Mansfield, Dennis (Karen) Allen of Mount Vernon, Brad Allen of Lewis Center, Diana Trammel of Mount Vernon, Jody (Joe) Adams of Dublin, Brenda (Gary) Mahon of Tucson, Ariz., and Mary (Conrad) Doak of Hamilton; great-aunts and great-uncles, Leonard Petry, Leona Deeds and Marguerite Miller, all of Mount Vernon; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in Glory by paternal grandmother, Dorothy Allen.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Church at Chapel Hill, where the funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery, with Pastor Kevin Rees officiating. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is n charge of arrangements.
