Maxene Patterson, 78, of the Tira community died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, in Carriage House Manor.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Murray-Orowsky Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Reeves and the Rev. Jim Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in the Tira Cemetery with David Bowling, Adam Bowling, Steven Bowling, Kevin Patterson, Tom Coker, Fred Boger, Doug Burkham, Gary Burkham, Lynn Ward, and Chip Vaughn serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She was a homemaker, member of the Tira United Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary Post 3990, and a member of the North Star 8 Square Dance Club of Paris.

She was born June 17, 1923, in Hopkins County Maxville Monroe and Veta Lee Harmon Horn. She married Wyman Eugene Patterson Jan. 10, 1942, in Commerce. He died in 1986.

Surviving are three sons, Ronnie Patterson and loving companion Geneva Padilla of San Jose, Calif., Rick Patterson and wife Cindy of Rockwall, and Randall Patterson of Sulphur Springs; one daughter, Sherry Sisk and husband Ken of Alpharetta, Ga.; her loving companion, George Harvey of Sulphur Springs; one brother, E.G. "Mutt" Horn and wife Rosemary of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Doris Moon and husband Glenn of Sulphur Springs, and Winnnie Lyon of Shawnee, Okla.; grandchildren, Kevin Patterson, David Bowling and wife Wendy, Adam Bowling, Steven Bowling, Jason Patterson, Shane Patterson, Travis Patterson, and Tracy Sisk, one great-grandson, Matthew Bowling. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Hopkins County Hospice.
