Born August 17th, 1845, departed this life April 9th, 1922, Mrs. Crockett Stanley at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John R. Aaron, Aaron Street.
The funeral took place from the residence and interment was at Pleasant Grove, the old home of the deceased.
She was a daughter of Katherine Mullins of Henry County, Va. and Robert Love Walker, both of whom have been dead several years.
Her mother was first married to Tandy Matthews who died, and later to Robert Love Walker.
Susan Matilda Walker was born was born in Forsyth County, N. C. and married Feb. 8, 1872, to Crockett Stanley.
She was the mother of seven children: Robert Hillie, Lucy Matt, Samuel Williams and Berta Anna have preceded her to the better land. John Walker and John Bahnson of Bassett, Va. and Mrs. John R. Aaron of Martinsville, Va.are left to mourn her loss.
Her half brothers, John H. and Calvin Matthews and her only two sisters are dead. She has two half brothers living; James Walker of Kernersville, N. C. and Samuel J. Walker of Greensboro, N. C.
