Dorothy Mae Anderson was born Sept 8, 1919, in
Minneapolis, to Charles and Nora (Heiberg) Bradbury. She lived in Mitchell, S.D., until her junior year in high school. Her father was transferred to Calmar, Iowa, where she graduated from high school.
In 1941 she married Ralph Anderson. While he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, she lived in Oakland and Alameda, Calif., and worked at the Navy Hospital Ship Service Store. After Ralph left the service, they returned to Iowa and lived in Leon and then in Jewell, Iowa. They bought a furniture store and funeral home in Wykoff, Minn., which they operated until 1965 when they
moved to Fergus Falls. Dorothy worked at the Fergus Falls High School nurses office for 19 years.
Dorothy was a member of First Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching the Twins and Vikings, baking and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph "Andy" of Fergus Falls; a son, Richard (Cathy) Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Judith (Brad) Thomas of Ft. Mills, S.C., and Carolyn (Mark) Rud of Fergus Falls; eight grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, June Blocher; and a brother, Herbert Bradbury.
