Nelda Mae Smith Lowder, 91, of Rupert passed away peacefully Tuesday March 22, 2016 at her home. Nelda was born February 16, 1925 in View, Idaho to Victor and Maggie Smith. She was married to Robert Lowder on December 12, 1945 in the Idaho Falls Temple. She grew up in the View area and also homesteaded on the North side of Rupert. Nelda had many talents and loved working with her hands. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in various callings in her ward. For the last few years she enjoyed making baby blankets for the Humanitarian efforts and helping family and friends.
Nelda is survived by her children Robert (Kay) Kimberly, ID; Dennis (Sharon) Draper, UT; Rodney (Marsha) Surprise, AZ; Brent (Janice) Ogden, UT; Judy (George) Allen, Soda Springs, ID; Karla (Brent) Wilson, Rupert, ID; Cindy (Loren) Smith, Downey, ID; Dell (Wendy), Rupert, ID, 47 grandchildren and 152 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lowder, grandson Jared, and granddaughters Heather and Felicia Lowder.
