From the Rutland Daily Herald, May 24, 1917:
Paul W. Coolidge died at the home of his parents, Probate Judge and Mrs. A.G. Coolidge of Kingsley avenue yesterday morning at 2 o'clock. Mr. Coolidge had not been well for several weeks, and for about 10 days had been critically ill with pneumonia and other complications.
Mr. Coolidge was born in Rutland, December 27, 1889, and had always made his home in this city. He finished the freshman year in the Rutland high school and then went to Dean academy, Franklin, Mass., and graduated from there in 1908, being president of his class in his senior year. He graduated from Dartmouth college, Hanover, N.H., in 1912. During his college life he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and during his residence in Rutland he belonged to the Rutland lodge of Masons and the Vermont lodge, Knights of Pythias.
For about one year and a half he was employed by the Vermont Marble company but since that time he has been connected with the firm of Paul W. Coolidge company, being the manager of the large wall paper and crockery business on Merchants row, operated by this company.
In September, 1913, Mr. Coolidge was married to Miss Marjory Barton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar M. Barton of Royce street.
He is survived by his parents, his wife and two daughters, Janet Barbara and a week old babe. The family asks that those who desire to view the remains will call at 49 Kingsley avenue tomorrow morning between 10 and 11 o'clock. The funeral will be private and will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the house.
