-- ROCK HILL - Mr. Alfred D. Gurrie, 84, of 1915 Ebenezer Road died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Cramerton Mountain Freewill Holiness Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Painter and Richard Hancock officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.
Mr. Gurrie was a member of Cramerton Mountain Freewill Holiness Church in Cramerton, N.C. He was retired from Union Carbide in Charleston, W.Va.
Surviving are his wife, Birdie Shackelford Gurrie; two stepsons, David Shackelford of Rock Hill and Roger Shackelford of Greenville; four stepdaughters, Shirley Miskelly, Pauline Estes, Joan Helms and Tonda Shackelford, all of Rock Hill; 11 stepgrandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
