Lillie Barrett Ramming

Lillie Barrett Ramming of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed from this life on April 2, 2010 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 90. Lillie was born on February 17, 1920 to Jacob Tharp and Irene Emiline (Simpson) Burgess in Chandler, Oklahoma. She married Roy Barrett in 1950, and he passed away on September 28, 1977. Lillie married Bud Ramming in 1981. Bud preceded her in death on September 18, 1982.

Lillie moved to Lindsay in 1950 from Maysville, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Grace Full Gospel Lighthouse Church. Mrs. Ramming had worked as a waitress, dishwasher, nanny and school lunch cook. She loved cooking, gardening and working outside. She lived with her dog Ginger, and she took great joy in her companionship.

Lillie is survived by one daughter, Jessie Ruby Barrett Demers of Oakville, Connecticut, three sons; Lawrence Smith and wife Joan of Enid, Oklahoma, Darrel Duggan and wife Sharon of Baytown, Texas, and James Ray Barrett and wife Olivia of Baytown, Texas. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Marty Smith, Julie Smith Adams, Brian Duggan, Brandon (Cory) Duggan, Tiffany Barrett-Sawyer, Thomas Roy Demers, Trevor Barrett and Tyler Barrett along with seven great-grandchildren; Tad Smith, Haley Smith, Jeffrey Duggan, Nicholas Thornberg, Eva Lily Demers and Ethan Demers.

Lillie had five sisters and two brothers who preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ramming are set for ten o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 at the B.G. Boydston Funeral Home located at 308 SW Third Street in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Pastor Rodney Hutcheson officiating and Bro. Chasen Lamb assisting Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay.
