He had been ill the past several months.
He is survived by his parents, William Cassatt and Betty Gruber Cassatt; one brother, Bill Cassatt, Jr., and one sister, Rebecca Jo Whiteside of Desoto, and other relatives and friends.
Cassatt was a freshman in the John F. Hodge high school.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 15, at the Trinity Episcopal Church with Thomas Symthe officiating. Laverne Barnett was the organist. Pallbearers were Edward Shivers, Doyle Laney, Daryl Laney, Jerry Ray, Richey Wools, Ronald Prebianca, Jerry Mace and Lee Dunivin. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery under the direction of Jesse Gahr Funeral Directors.
