Daughter of the late William Brian and Leota Laws Lowe, she was the widow of William Paul Lyda. Additionally, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Shelah and Ruben Lowe; a sister, Wilma Clark, and a son-in-law, Greg Parris. She was survived by her children, Todd Lyda, Timothy Lyda (Lane) and Paula Parris; four grandhildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Novella Blakely, Daisy Fulton, Martha Shelton and Velma Barnes. She worked in manufacturing. She was a member of Renfrew Baptist Church. Her funeral was held on October 9, 2010.
