CHESAPEAKE - Cordell "Dell" Hoggard, 90, of the 3100 block of Pelham St., went to be with the Lord Dec. 15, 2008, in Chesapeake. A native of Hertford County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Marcus Pomroy and Eleanor Greene Norvell and the wife of the late George Clayton Hoggard. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Chesapeake and active in its Meals on Wheels program.
Surviving are two daughters, Eleanor Brickhouse and her husband Ray of Chesapeake and Donna Martin and her husband Rick of Williamsburg; two granddaughters, Lisa Davis and Danielle Taylor; a grandson, Brad Maynard; special nephews, Adrian, J.B. and Larry Wynns; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Clayton Hoggard and a grandson, Timothy Ray Brickhouse.
A funeral will be held Thurs- day at 2 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Riddle officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions should be made to Meals on Wheel, 736 Battlefield Blvd. N., Chesapeake, VA 23320.
