Mr. Patrick Nestor Passes Away Sunday Morning After Brief Illness
LaMotte, Ia., March 1. - Special - Mr. Patrick Nestor, one of the most prominent and highly respected residents in this section, answered the final summons at his home here on Sunday morning a few minutes before nine o'clock.
Deceased was born in Limerick, Ireland, March 17th, 1831; at the age of twelve years he came to Pennsylvania, moving from there to Iowa, where he has resided since that time.
On January 16, 1862, he was united in marriage to Ellen O'Connell, who is still living. Until fourteen years ago, Mr. Nestor resided on a farm near Otter Creek, but since that time he has made his home in LaMotte. Beside his sorrowing wife, the deceased leaves four children: Dora, Mrs. James Cahill, Sylvester, and Raymond, also one sister and one brother, Mrs. M. Dunn of Greeley, Nebraska, and Michael of the same place.
Mr. Nestor was in his usual good health up to about a week ago, when a heavy cold suddenly developed into pneumonia, which caused his demise. The deceased was a devout member of the Catholic church during all his life, and the precepts of his faith were his guiding rules in all his dealings, both those at home and on the outside. His death is deeply mourned throughout the entire section.
The funeral will be held at nine o'clock Tuesday morning from the family residence to the Holy Rosary church; burial will be in Otter Creek.
