Earl P. Weber was born March 7, 1918 to Peter and Julia (Holihan) Weber at the family farm in Monona County, Iowa. He attended country school. Earl earned his living as a farmer.

April 10, 1939, Earl was united in marriage to Agnes Melby at St. Patrick's Rectory in Dunlap. The couple farmed west of Dunlap until 1948, then moved to their farm east of Dunlap. Earl died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Dunlap.

Earl was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and other local and county conservation boards.

Earl's greatest joys were his children and grandchildren, dancing with his wife, playing cards with family and friends, traveling, collecting antiques, planting trees and clowning around.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Laverne and Harvey and their first born daughter, Mary Jane, who died at birth.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes of Dunlap; his only son, Paul and wife Donna of Dunlap; daughters, Frances and husband Robert Klein of Dunlap, Elaine and husband Larry Harrington of Glenwood, Mary and husband Mike Lehan of Dunlap and Sandra and husband Jim Reischl of Dunlap; one brother, Marvin and wife Betty of Torrence, Calif.; twin sister, Pearl and husband Harry Grote and sister, Leona and husband Phil Christiansen of Fallbrook, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Ruby "Toots" Weber of Anaheim, Calif., and Flo Weber of Dunlap. He has 21 grandchil-dren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial for Earl Weber was held Monday morning, July 10, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant was Rev. Paul Strittmatter. Marilyn Grote was organist.

Interment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Dunlap. Bearers were Larry Klein, Mark Klein, Chad Harrington, Jason Harrington, Mike Weber, Dan Weber, Jeff Lehan, John Lehan, Steve Reischl, Brad Reischl. Arrangements were made by Fouts Funeral Home of Dunlap/Woodbine.
