Charles Ahlswede 81, of 845 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Friday morning at
Memorial Hospital Manitowoc, where he was a patient one day.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home ,
Manitowoc, the Rev Harvey A. Rakow, pastor of First Baptist Church, Manitowoc,
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ahlswede was born April 19, 1880, in the Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County,
son of the late Charles and Mary Bolzenthal Ahlswede.
He married Minnie Mahler April 19, 1902, at Manitowoc, where they resided since.
They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1952.
Mr. Ahlswede operated cheese factories at Rockwood and Four Corners in Manitowoc
County fo 16 years. He was a salesman for Mckay Nursery of Madison for 29 years
until his retirement two years ago. He sold nursery stock for the company in the
Manitowoc area.
A son Arthur preceded him in death in 1932 and another son Elmer, died in 1957.
Survivors include his wife and a sister, Mrs. Albert Sydow, of Manitowoc.
