Nancy was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Columbia, S.C., to the late Ralph E. and Mary E. (Black) Johnston, Sr.
Nancy is survived by a son, Kevin Marrs, of Versailles; granddaughter, Sara Marrs, of Moraine; brother, Ralph E. Johnston Jr., of Versailles; nieces, Alicia and Sam Meadows, of Taos, N.M., and Libby and Chad Kennard, of Grand Junction, of Colorado; and a great-niece and nephew, Jade and Ashton Meadows.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her husband, William F. Marrs.
Nancy retired from Longfellow Elementary School in Sidney, where she taught third grade. She had taught for 34 years.
Nancy was a member of the Versailles United Methodist Church, O.E.A. and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Rick Gutheil officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
