George E. Morey, originally from Leavenworth, Kansas, was the owner of Radio KCTX, in Childress, Texas, where he was a well-known local broadcaster and businessman. He married Dorothy Schmania, of Leavenworth, in 1947, and they had six children. His son, George Michael Morey, preceded him in death in 1994. Mr. Morey, a veteran of WW II, won the Bronze Star for bravery.

Cremated and ashes placed in the Urn Garden in the center of the Last Supper Garden alongside the ashes of his mother, Viola S. Morey.
