UNION MILLS -- Thomas W. Ames, 69, of Union Mills, died at 6 p.m., Thursday at his home. He had been ill the past three years. Ames was born May 11, 1901, at Utica, Ill., and had lived in Union Mills eight years, coming here from Rolling Prairie. He was a farmer. He married Delma Rosenbaum in Knox on Jan. 2, 1932. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Lila Kyes, of LaPorte; Mrs. Fonda Risner, LaCrosse, two sons, Deverl of LaCrosse and Elwin of LaPorte; three brothers, Dillar of Valparaiso, Fred of Union Mills, and Martin of Michigan City; five sisters, Mrs. Angeline Harner, Odell, Ill., Mrs. Lois Stitt, Verona, Ill., Mrs. Anne Hebert, LaSalle, Ill., Mrs. Harriet Scarborough, Valparaiso and Mrs. Cleo Awald, of Walkerton and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Kosanke Brothers Funeral Home, Union Mills. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m., Saturday. Burial in Hanna Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Anderson of the Church of the Brethren, will officiate.
