Mrs. Nora C. Wilson, 99, of 508 South Sixth Street, died Monday, December 17 at 2:23 a.m. at the residence of Dorothy Sheeks, 1002 Grissom Avenue, after a long illness. She was born in Lawrence County October 2, 1874 to George W. and Priscilla Sheeks Carr. She was married May 29, 1901 to David Wilson, who preceded her in death in 1929.
Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Southern Indiana Normal College of Mitchell, and taught school for 13 years in Knox County. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. John I. (Elsie) Tyree of Bedford; two nieces,Mrs. Kenneth (Madeline) Tanksley of Mitchell and Mrs. Mildred Snow, Vincennes; and one nephew, Edwin Carr, South Bend; three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Memorial Chapel of the Chistain [sic Chastain] Funeral Home with Rev. Barney Stephens officiating. Burial was in the Sheeks Cemetery.
