Bonnie was the second of four children born to Leslie and Iva McBride. She attended Muskingum College with Senator John Glenn who was a couple years younger than her.

In 1944, she married Edwin Wymer and gave birth to their first of six children ten and a half months later.

She always made sure that her family had what they needed and loved spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many years playing taxi for her grandchildren.

I have 30 years of memories of my grandmother that I could tell, but not enough room to tell them all in. I'll pick a few that stand out though.

When my youngest sister was 3 years old, she had to go to a special preschool every day to help her with her speech. My grandmother retired from her job early in order to be available to drive my sister to and from her school every day.

I remember one year driving back and forth on the interstate over the river with my grandmother just so we could see the fireworks.

One of my favorite memories of my grandmother involves vegetable soup and chili. I HATE beans. She would pay me a quarter for every kidney bean or lima bean I found in the soup or chili. The money she gave me for the beans I would spend on something that I heard her comment about wanting but wouldn't buy for herself. I would buy it for her.

My grandmother was a wonderful woman, and I miss her every day. The pain has dulled, but the memories are as strong as ever.
