Joan was the oldest of six children born to Edwin and Bonnie Wymer as well as a half sister. She married Richard Robinson and had one daughter. Soon after her daughter was born she was diagnosed with cervical cancer which destroyed her chances of another child. A few years later, she lost her husband.

Joan later married George Scott and a few years before her death was married to Milt Harris. Milt moved her and her daughter from Ohio to Florida where Joan eventually passed away.

Joan left behind her daughter, both parents, three sisters, three brothers, and many nieces and nephews.

Since her passing, her daughter has blessed her with a granddaughter and two grandsons.

Mary Joan Harris, 49, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Zanesville, died at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 1994, at Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.
Born Oct. 23, 1944, in Zanesville, Mrs. Harris was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and a member of the Eastern Star Laura Chapter No. 264. She was a 1962 graduate of Zanesville High School, and a former administrative secretary for Broward County, Florida.
Surviving are her husband, Milton J. Harris; one daughter, Sherri L. Robinson of Tamarac, Fla.; her parents, Ed and Bonnie McBride Wymer, of Zanesville; three brothers, Darryl Wymer and Steve Wymer, both of Zanesville, and Dayle Wymer of Beebe, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Sharon Wentworth of Hopewell and Brenda Denbow of Grand Ledge, Mich.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Richard E. Robinson, who died Nov. 13, 1973.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 1994, at Bryan Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 27, 1994, at the funeral home with Dr. Kenneth V. Kettlewell officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
