Lillie was born in Tom Bean,Texas to parents Brice Austin Biggerstaff and Mary Tom Boyd Biggerstaff, where they were farmers.

In a math book from her elementary school in Rose Hill, Texas on February 11, 1907 she wrote: "He that does the best that circumstances allows, does well, acts nobly, angels could do no more." She embraced this philosophy her entire life.

Because her father did not think she was old enough to marry, Lillie and John were married in secret by the Justice of the Peace in a horse drawn buggy on July 10, 1910. Lillie was 19, John was 22. Then Lillie returned home living with her parents, until she was outed by the Justice when he congradulated Brice on Lillie's marriage when he saw him in town. OOPS! Lillie and John had a son Howard Paul Carter born Sept 3, 1917, died Oct 10, 2006. They were divorced April 19, 1926, remarried July 31, 1926, and divorced on January 28, 1938. Lillie would not remarry until after John's untimly death in Aug 1, 1942.

Lillie married Joseph Aaron Rone on Feb 13, 1943 in Durant, Oklahoma. Joe died
December 16, 1961 and is buried with Lillie in West Hill Cemetery.

She was a beautiful woman with dark hair and eyes. She went to work as a seamstress in a factory making work clothes, as young woman and worked for Pool Manufacturing for many years. She was an excellent seamstress who made all her own clothes and often sewed for her sisters, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Lillie was an honorable person and a true lady. She took pride in her appearance and her home. Even with limited resources, she was extremely creative and worked wonders. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt. She attended the Church of Christ all her life. The last three years of her life were spent at the Chapel of Care Nursing Home, where she died at the age of 93.
